Okay, Phil. Here's something to talk about, since you asked for some discussion. I won't know until I post this what the image is. But if it is HC in a green suit, it is misleading. I can't find a date it was made, but yootoob says it was published Jan of '16.
This is a documentary type of video. I found it recently, watched it in its entirety, and was disturbed by it. I somehow flew by this ruckus when it happened, I think it was the 80's? Early 90's?
This isn't about politics, though I cannot speak to the motive of the people/channel that put it out there. This is about how deep corruption goes, the degree to which a group of people (likely backed by nonphysical groups) will go to keep it all quiet, and it speaks to how well they can keep the silence.
I learned a great deal with this video. I talked to someone in real life who echos my sentiments...how in the hell can this machine be stopped?
It is also difficult to know how to cope with new information like this. Not new information, but new to me. I don't see a single person speaking of this on forums, where (it seems) they would rather create something else to focus on. Not that there aren't real super soldiers ... not that all the things discussed are not important ... but...are you fucking kidding me? How about we earth dwellers deal with what is right here in front of us?

Ah...dragging me down the path of an older obsession of mine, eh? When I first got access to good internet at my first job in an office out of college, as I explained elsewhere I was a political news junky. Back then it was CNN on the TV in our section of the cube farm, while I poured through every major newspaper, news outlet, political blog, listened to both right wing and left wing radio (I <3 Mike Malloy), looked for every commentator....whatever. I was hell bent on understanding WTF was going on at the national geopolitical level, and in my free time read all the books, bills, watched CSPANs 1-3, and as this was 2000 era, never missed a press release by the White House, the characters there, Ari Fliesher....followed by my favorite sweaty Scotty McClellan, hung on every word Condi or W or whoever they trotted out there, which is why the story lost/distorted in recent history that interested me (and turned me off to national politics) was this: JEFF GANNON BEING IN THE PRESS BOX
I looked to see if there is any documentaries on the dude out there, and remembered how partisan the information we are presented is...I remembered why I can't follow it any more and even less inclined to "study" history...everything is so skewed by the emotional tone of the "side" presenting it that it has almost no value. I listened to, watched, and studied the right, but my beliefs were emotionally to tied to the left, so everything that came from them was believeable and anything Rush Limbaugh or Bill O said was obviously lies (well, this is actually true, but ya know what I mean). So I realized that everything I believe is through that old Left Wing filter (blinders) I used to have on...but I was slightly more open minded than most so I feel I still got to the heart of matters a little better than the media presentations would have steered me.
...anyway, this is the guy that was lobbing the softballs to W during the early years, right next to White House press like that old lady who's name I forget that was doing it since Lincoln's time I think...as well as all the major news outlets and whoever else passed White House screening and was given the ticket to be there. This clown had a shitty web page he called Talon News and was vetted by the people who started noticing him who in like 5 seconds found out he was a male escort with absolutely NO qualifications. Yew the got to ask a (stupid) question EVERY time a character from the White House was up at the podium. Notice in this "news" thingy the ONLY information that is really given is that he was exposed as an escort (and the dude doesn't deny it) and barely snuck in the controversy that made him (in)famous...they are focused on if he was an MKUltra child abductee.
I think this exposes the value of the "alternative" media to the BIG media...they need the inquisitive focused on the fantastical stuff to let the possibly real or at least easier to accept "news" get missed...I am assuming here that your video is the Clinton murder drug running MEna airport murder shit? Stuff that I would never have taken at face value back then because it came from the righT? I will check it out shortly but just wanted to share WHY I don't look for (or at, really) stuff like this anymore...I am so beyond able to believe ANYTHING reported to us from ANY source anymore...and in the grand scheme (and to your questions) feel that any energy spent on it "strengthens" the system, by even consuming the "information" we are affirming/legitimizing it.
The "machine" is powered by our faith in it, and the only way it can be weakened is if enough of us stop. No easy feat, in that it is the true "religion" (backed by and actual the administration/structure for the faith-based money system) of the American people, who believe their vote counts, we have a choice...and responsibility, thanks to our vote and freedom and taxes or whatever the fuck we delude ourselves about this nonsense. That we need the system, we have democracy and it's the best, yada yada yada as my friend would say.
I personally believe the only thing that really happens in national level of US politics is that money gets moved around and people are put in places to tighten corporate "rights" and control....these faith based entities have more off both than any real live citizen ever will. And most of us are emotionally attached to protecting the image of how "good" this is. So short answer after my long screed is that the only way to take away the machines power is to not give it any more, in any way you can as you live your life. Pay attention to the "information" broadcast by its media (and the controlled opposition that is the "alternative") but remember what it is, stories that they want you to hear. Even ones like what you posted, like the rest of the "alt", there may be nuggets of truth, but it is fished out of a loose storm of the emotional state the presenters are creating or triggering in the audience...almost all of the "facts" are necessarily skewed, especially taken out of that time and context.
So in a way watching the video seems sort of hypocritical and self defeating, but I did say I think there's in consuming it. You can learn from soap operas, if you are focused on the actual information and not triggered emotionally. Or maybe even analyzing things that trigger you can be helpful...I'll let you know, but I wanted to kind of give you my mindset going in. I read your post and was reminded of my feelings upon reading Michal Ruppert's "Crossing the Rubicon" and the subsequent studies of the Iran-Contra fiasco (while all of the stars of that seedy soap were in the cabinet and highest of the highest roles in the land). My method of "taking down the system" is to set the example by not beleiving in it, pointing out the absurdity of it wherever I can, and pointing out that my old heroes like Jon Stewart and whoever does the Daily Show now are more of a problem than a help, mocking it the way they do legitimizes it. Any of their "jokes" should be cause of investigation and change, streamlining the system as it is exposed to millions of viewers/voters...but here we are, in a world where it is legitimate to believe we have some sort of "choice" and responsibility to pick one of the two worst humans on the planet to be the star of the biggest reality show going (which we believe comes with incredible power...but I sorta doubt they ever are allowed to make decisions).

Yes, Phil, that is the subject of the video. Mena. But your perspective and your filter are much different than mine. I did not watch this with political eyes. It isn't about the two party lie. It is the human story that I saw.
I grew up in a home where not only was politics not discussed, it was nonexistent. It was not until college that I learned what Republicans and Democrats were. Or what voting was. That was the hardest "B" I ever earned. The language and concept of politics was very difficult for me. It wasn't until after I joined a forum we all know and love that I realized all the truth I learned was also bullshit.
So, this isn't about politics. It is bigger than that. It is about power, I guess. It is about uncovering the truth, and that there are those who want it to stay buried. This translates, to me, across all areas. No wonder it is so difficult to get at the truth about anything. Absolutely anything.

Awesome, will watch it soon and comment. It took me along time to NOT see and focus on the "twists" in the human stories...to see past the "game", so to speak...in order to be able to really integrate the human reality left in its wake. Such a muddled meta-situation...be back later...

Definitely a nice "trigger" video, one that shows the absurdity and cognitive dissonance of the "American collective's" mindset...the way the "public" lies to itself.
I didn't really learned anything, all of that was out there before, and just like the male prositiute in the WH press Corp stoked a little outrage, serious issues for those close to it, and then faded away...just a dirty little family secret (or propaganda lie) that's part of the way Democracy and America-style freedom works.
I definitely used to just get emotional...outraged, angry...hanging on to the delusions that "good" will come and clean up the clean up the corruption, after all...what would it take? Honesty. That's it. Uncorrupted investigation, protection to those providing information, fair trials on even fairer (accurate, unbiased) telling of the stories. DISCLOSURE. Sound familiar?
Stupid me moved from pining for disclosure there, the political and economic and social justice arena, to the woo-woo world I think the whole thing distorts....the INFORMATION owned by those that can reach it. The real power to do more than just pull the puppets' strings...but to create the set and direct the production...to create this reality.
That's what I see when I watched the video...a macrocosm wrapped in a microcosm....a fairly pertinent view of the fractal that is abusive relationships in our lives. We are told by those with that classified or privledged information (and positions) that WE are the ones enabling it, that WE have power to change it...when the reality is that we are not only NOT on a level playing field as should be obvious...one vote does not equal one rich Senator's kid's (or anyone else in the "right place at the right time) station in life, and we all should know that by now...as we should know very few politicians have the popluace's interests as their highest priority...we are deluded into believing the SYSTEM is necessary and could be just and is the best...if not for the corruption
Which gets written off as a few bad apples. The way we are fed information makes it seem like random bad apple after random bad apple is spoiling the bunch, so often it should be apparent the issue might be with the system processing the apples. We have been programmed into good little citizens to know that it COULD NOT POSSIBLY BE THE SYSTEM...it's the EVIL PEOPLE or families or bloodlines or whatever....and if we got rid of the system would work. FREEDOM!!! USA!!!! VOTE!!! DEMOCRAZY!!!
It hits close to home, my prersonal situation is sullied by the abuse of power of the patriarch of the woman's family, whose abuse was covered up and actively...to this day...protected by her momma, who got a position as "happy family matriarch" as a reward. The entire family accepts the emotional blackmail necessary to keep the lie afloat, and most of the family can excuse or block out of their mind any implications of the possibility.
It's interesting to me to focus on this today, after a weekend where I made it clear the damage the intitial abuse, and continued problems dealing with living the lie, does to me and my family, that part that was separate from the CHOICE to walk our paths together. I finally made her understand the habits and behaviors and mindset she has formed (and been steadily but way too slowly and way too much ONLY AT MY PRODDING...making me feel controlling and abusive) makes me want to just remove myself from it...much like I once looked seriously into leaving the country when I was learning stuff like in the video and the equivalents that are out there about W and probably every other US NAT'L Politician.
But I found it ain't that simple, the system makes it even harder to get out of than it makes change from within. But either way takes such an overwhelming amount energy of work, and even then you are working with partial/skewed/wrong data...it's so easy to jump out of the frying pan and into another frying pan...to make things worse, especially for yourself.
Real change takes utter fearlessness and brutal honesty....and I've learned that on the personal level this means being able to find way to get the people most effected, closest to you, directly involved...to see reality through a different filter, a completely different than they are used to. I personally believe something built in to the system, that permeates through all aspects of it, makes it super difficult for our brain to process ideas that come with an emotional charge.
...and maybe that's not the system, maybe it's hardwired into our meat suits or parts of the lessons we have yet to learn in our CHOICE of picking lifetime and learning lessons for our soul, as the woo-woo and new age would have you believe. Maybe we are victims of the reality we are all creating together, and so this (sub)conscious choice will propel our species to self destruction
These are the ideas that I try to flesh out with my internet activity...which ultimately is the ability to communicate on a human level with people I otherwise wouldn't be able to...it is access to ideas and information I wouldn't have otherwise, it is true power. But that power is limited....seems to me totally controlled. There is something to our lot in life that requires something seemingly miraculous...or dare say, an outside savior?...to get to be privy to the way we all know SOMEONE knows reality works. Which may not be the COMPLETE story...but would definitely be more empowering than arguing over a false "choice" between two of the most hated humans on the planet to be the visible "leader".

And so the march plods on, the divisive war to see which of the "lesser of to evils" "wins". Do they even have running mates? Shouldn't they by now? I am happy I have repressed the part of my memory that used to keep track of and care about such things.
Anyways, my musings for this morning was on the chat CW set up this week about "politics and spirituality". I was not feeling great when it was live, and haven't watched the parts I wasn't involved in yet...but from what I got out of it, it was a lot of the same. Same ideas about "spirituality" and religion, right and wrong and politics. Only Jerry seemed to be able to see outside the box, and any move in that direction got countered with discussion of the inevitable direction we are currently heading.
Perhaps Zinn is right, this is a runaway train it's pointless to be neutral on, and impossible to get off of. I hope not, my "spirituality" is different. I don't believe the systems are necessary, just because that's all we've been told our species has been chosing for all of all written history. And though everyone wants to label my woo-woo spiritual ideas as something like "anarchy", it is far from the traditional view of that projection.
I don't think religion (or politics or economics) is a "human need", I believe it is us "masses" being stuck in a "that's the way we've always done it" mentality, with those with more hunger for power/material/fame capitalizing on this laziness to the point of twisting it into a hopelessness.
I try hard to be the change I want to see in the only way I know....refusing to participate in ""enabling" acitivities while pointing out how the abuse cycle seems to be systemically ingrained into our collective consciousness. I have no delusions I can present any evidence to support this that will convince anyone else, so I try to live my faith the best I can on the individual level, always looking for ways to express it through being an example.

I was tempted to put this in the CW thread, as it is what I am always running into disagreements with him about (hat-tip to Herbert at TOT):
I agree with a majority of this, especially the idea of it being "superstition" to believe in the authority of the major governments. I love the idea being pushed out how it is entirely faith based...and there's a pretty solid defense against the attack against the "black and white" reality that "no government" immediately means chaos and that damn "anarchy" label getting slapped on.
What I don't like is the way it seems to define "authority" as the allowing those in power to do bad things. The truth of authority is that the REAL kind is deserved...wiser elders of indigenous tribes comes to mind, but also TRUE wisdom and accurate information are what I think SHOULD be "authority" in our culture...and perhaps it is, tainted though it is by those with hiding it from the populace...hoarding it for themselves. OWNING it...our concept of valuing ownership I believe is the key religious belief we have empowering the FALSE authority we worship
Yes, I know that it is nearly impossible to believe some merit-based system could possibly work, with so many people sharing a finite amount of space and resources...but I still think it's important to get rid of the lies we tell ourselves that we have anything like it now, especially in America, where we like to tell ourselves we are best and free-est. We (USA) are the authority on enabling, from the way we accept the "because I said so" method of raising our kids on the interpersonal level to the blind worship of the killing machine tool of the government that is our military (and everyone associated with it).
Anyways, I support most of the ideas presented here, i think it was very well done. I doubt it will sway anyone stuck in their religious beliefs about the "mundane" of the world we live in, but hey....maybe transmitting it into the awareness as much as we can might help counter some of the OBEY OBEY OBEY...respect "authority"....horseshit we are constantly hammered with
